With the release of their flagship devices, the “X” series now comes in different variations. Apple’s partnership with other brands like LG has led them to make one of the finest phones with an OLED display that perfectly complements its big screen, though it is said that the XS is just an upgraded version of last year’s iPhone X features.

The iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2436 by 1125 pixels. The Max has a 6.5-inch OLED screen with a 2688 by 1242-pixel resolution. Both phones have 4 gigabytes of RAM and up to 512 GB of onboard storage. Both have the same dual-lens camera system (more about that below). Both are running the Apple-manufactured A12 Bionic CPU. The XS has a 2,658 milliamp-hour battery, while the Max’s battery is 3,174 mAh, which is the largest battery ever for an iPhone and as for battery life.

Apple says the XS will last 30 minutes longer than last year’s iPhone X, while the Max’s battery will run for 1.5 hours more than the X. That’s not a lot but this is a big deal for most iPhone users. Physically, the XS measures 14.4 cm by 7.1 cm by 76mm and weighs 177 grams, while the Max measures 15.8 cm by 7.7 cm by 76 mm and weighs 208 grams. Both phones are IP68 splash-water-and dust-resistant and can also take a 30-minute dunk in up to 2 metres of water.

Both devices have a fast-charging feature, which is pretty nice, but the charger and cable included in the box are not capable of fast charging. You’ll need to buy a separate fast charging cable and adaptor as expected from Apple. Roughly the new iPhone costs about $999 to $1099, convert that and add the tax here in the Philippines, and viola you’ve got yourself a luxury priced device.
